As a believer in giving back to the least fortunate through humanitarian work, I find myself in action wherever I go when I can afford it. While planning my 70th birthday celebration in the Cape Verde Islands, I appealed to my guests to bring as many school supplies as their luggage could handle. In addition, I also requested voluntary donations of any amount to enable me to purchase and donate food and school supplies to the vulnerable population on the Island of Sal. The project was successful and heartwarming for me and my guests, as we provided food packages to more than one hundred and fifty families and school supplies to the same number of children in several communities.
